Ellery Baptist Church is an independent Baptist church.

What we Believe

God has revealed Himself to us though the 66 books of the Bible. It was inspired by the Holy Spirit and therefore is the Word of God and the final authority for all believers.

There is one eternal, self-existing God who created everything. God is one in essence but has three persons known as the Trinity: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Jesus is fully God and fully man. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on a cross where he became a substitute for our sins, rose on the third day and ascended to heaven where He sits at the right hand of God. Someday he will return again bodily to Earth.

The Holy Spirit is inspired Scripture, draws us to the Father, seals us, and gifts the believer to do ministry.

Humans were created special out of all creation because we were made in the image of God. Therefore all human life has intrinsic value and dignity. We were, however, corrupted by sin. Although we still have the image of God, we separated from Him and in need of a savior.

The only way to be saved from our sins is by putting our faith in the death and resurrections of Jesus. Those who are saved will spend eternity with God and those who are not will spend eternity separated from God in judgement. A believer cannot lose their salvation because salvation is an act of God, not man.

The church is made up of baptized believers who are self-governed and come together to serve God and make disciples of all nations.
